About Poppy

The Witch next door.

I think of myself as a fairly typical person. I am a stay at home mom (well mostly) to a wonderful child and wife to a very loving husband. I am a daughter and a granddaughter and a sister and a friend. I am deeply devoted to my family and friends I believe that people should strive to make the world a better place and to be kind to each other. I love to cook and to grow what I will cook. I am slightly fanatical when it comes to nutrition. not that I don’t love a doughnut but lets not kid ourselves if you aren’t feeling good it’s probably the food you are eating.  I love to read learn. I love Football (American football. Go Pack Go!) I love to dance and sing off-key. I firmly believe that every day is a day worth celebrating and I am all about throwing celebrations. I love all holidays and work on extending them as long as possible.  I am thankful for the way my life has turned out so far and feel very blessed.

As I said in my post “my Journey to and on this path” I have been a practicing witch for over 2 decades. I have explored a lot and learned a lot in that time. I am still learning everyday. I have taught students at times other times I have practiced as somewhat of a hermit. I am currently practicing with others, but I still consider us a coven of solitaires. I am currently teaching a student again and developing a business.

Also a note for those perfectionist. I have dyslexia and so occasionally you will find grammar and spelling errors. That is a tad about me but if you read the blog, you will know a lot more as I tend to talk about whatever is in my mind at the moment.

I will leave you with a favorite quote of mine
“I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, they’ll forget what you did, but they’ll never forget how you made them feel.”
– Maya Angelou

Bright Blessings, Poppy

Hi, Poppy. You are a very loving person, indeed. I came across your blog after conducting a search for printable pages for my own BOS. I was wondering where you are from and a little more about your background (my mother is friends with a woman named “Poppy” and I was wondering if perhaps you could be her??) but not sure where you are located…we are in FL. By the way, your BOS is AWESOME! I am adding to mine in the same way (on my 3rd one, lol). Thank you for sharing a little piece of you and your thoughts!

    • Why thank you. I was born and raised and have always lived in California. I used to go to Florida when I was little though to visit my grandparents on Sanibel. It was magical. What else would you like to know about my backround? I should update this about me section but I never know what to say about me.

  2. Hi Poppy! I nominated Book of Shadows and Blessings for a Liebster blog award. I know you technically have more followers than the “rules” call for, but I wanted to spread the blog-love nonetheless! Check out my blog for more details.
