Masterpiece Monday work on my BOS

As I have began to explore my creative side I decided to do some work on my BOS. I hear / read about a LOT of people who wont get started on theirs because they want it to be perfect. I was like that for a long time myself. Then I figured I might as well just do it or it would never get done. I gave myself permission to not be perfect and to make mistakes. This is a perfect example of that. Not that it was a mistake I just changed my mind. If you have seen the pictures of my BOS Then you will recognize (maybe) these next two photos. These are how the pages originally were done and after a time I decided I wanted to change them. Today I am sharing with you first of the pages.

BOS elements

I liked the page well enough but later I found this wonderful picture and I wanted to use it in my book. I put it in but it never felt right.

It felt like I had just thrown it in there. So last week I decided to do something about it. I very carefully removed it from the original page. Then I decided to paint the background kind of like space. First black and then specks of all different colors. You can see the flecks better in the last photo. I then pasted on the image and I am very happy with how it turned out.

And here is a close up of the new page
5 elements page

Hope you enjoyed and as always feel free to leave a comment with a link to any Masterpiece you would like to share.

Friday 5

Its a new year and I did miss the first¬†Friday¬†but I forgive me ūüôā Today’s 5 things I love shall be Art,¬†because¬†Little and I are having such a¬†tremendously¬†fun time¬†making¬†our Art Journals.¬†Which may not be the same as fine art but art is art and it all makes the soul sing. Also one of my goals for this year is to “pretty it up” more on that¬†Monday¬†but for now 5¬†pieces¬†of art that have me in AWE right now.

I just love trees.

You wake up early and the first hing your daughter says is “mama can we paint”

“of course we can baby”

she made this

she was very careful to be gently¬†when she smooshed the pages together so she didn’t tear the pages. I think it turned out wonderful.

I love moments like this. I try to focus on moments like this. Sometimes I think that because I try to focus on the bright spots people assume I live some magical life where everything goes the way I want and nothing bad ever happens. Its true I do lead a magical life but that is be cause I make it that way.

I still come home to things like this ūüôā¬†image

This is our toilet, our ONE toilet chilling in my hall way. super conducive to family life with a small child.

and of course every day there are lots of this

piles and piles of laundry. I do at least one load of laundry a day.

And then there is rotten cold that just wont go away. But lucky my I have the best witchy girl friends and one stopped by last night to give me my Yule gift and I was asking her about herbs as she knows more than me and ta da she pulled this out of her purse.

I told her she was like Mary Poppins.

So that’s the thing life is life and it will keep coming and keep going and have you feel every day depends mostly on how you choose to look at things.
