Small works

I had a few moments yesterday and I decided to add two very small things to my book of shadows. If you haven’t seen my BOS you can check out the pictures here.  I think of my book as a personal spiritual instructional manual and I put in it all things that speak to me.

I printed out some pictures from my Pinterest Art board. Which I save there for this very reason. Recently I have been interested in alchemy for various reasons and so these are drawing from alchemy books.

I wanted to show you this picture because this is how I plan my book out. I don’t have a color printer at home and I don’t always have time to work on the book but I do have ideas of what I want where. Or I need to save pages for something that I want to put in when I have time. So I write on post-its what I want on that page and put it on the page to reserve the space and remind me what I wanted to put in the page.

Here is the picture pasted it. It is still kind of wet in this photo but it will dry. As you can see I work forwards and backward in this book. Some times I put in a whole page and some times just a small piece.

Here is the other small work I did. This is the page facing my title page in front of the book and I found a book blessing I liked. I did modify it some but not much.

Even if it is not a lot done small works add up to a lot over time.

  1. You call this A Book of Shadows but in looking at how you’ve constructed it has a journal, scrap book, art book sort of feel if that makes sense. It’s truly beautiful. Thank you for sharing the progress!

    • You have no idea how on the head you have nailed it. I have been thinking about doing a whole post about this recently. For one I “call it a Book of Shadows” publicly but I don’t think of it that way personally. For two it is very much and art journal/ altered book type of book. ok you have convinced me tomorrow I shall write about that!

      • I will be looking for your post here shortly! I have kept journals ever since high school and I use to put clippings from special trips, doodles all kinds of stuff in it. 🙂
