Starting November

I love that I start each month and season with the though “oh I love ____” It is like I have short-term memory because wistfully think those words at each start. So of course this morning as I was having my coffee I thought “oh I love November”  And I do. There is lots going on and I have lots to say about all of it.

First things first Lets do a quick look back. We have just celebrated Halloween/ Samhaing/ Dia de los Meurtos (today actually) and no better time to recap. What did you like? what do you want to do next year? Did you like what you cooked? do you want to make it tradition (that last part must be sung like fiddler on the roof) or do you want to switch it up next year? This where having a Book of Days is fantastic. I have printed out the Chili recipe I made and tucked it into my binder to wait for me next year. I of course also put the link on my Book of Days page too.

Now that we have looked back lest talk November. For us it is a time to remember gratitude and all we are blessed with. Ok well really this is something I strive for every day but really November as the commercial world ramps up its you wont be happy till you buy this or own that it’s a great time to smoother with a big dose of thankfulness. Which is why I have the thankful tree to keep the focus on what really matters. Plus being in the USA we have our Thanksgiving at the end of the month and so it all works.

Speaking of Thanksgiving I will be having a lot to say about that do. I know you will all be shocked to hear that I am a little obsessive about planning that. For our family it is one of the bigger holidays and we host. Well I cook but it is at my parents house. I will be walking you through my planner book and helping you make one too.

I just love November
