vile vile gluten

On Saturday night Hubs and I went to a lovely date night dinner. The first one in a LONG time. It was over due and really wonderful. We went to a Mexican place that my hubby had been to and liked. I was so enthralled with my wonderful handsome hubby I didn’t pay attention to what I was putting in my mouth. Oops! so I (must have) consumed a combo of sugar and gluten and Sunday was no fun.

I woke Sunday in immense pain! My head and my body hurt. The pain was shooting through my body and it hurt so much it made my stomach twist and I felt like I would vomit.  This all may be too much information, but I thought I would share it with y’all cuz I am sick of hearing that being gluten-free is a diet fad.People say oh people don’t like gluten because they think it makes them fat. Maybe but I don’t eat it because it tries to kill me.  Along that lines I don’t know if I have Celiac. I know for darn sure I wont find out because to do the blood work I need to go back to eating gluten (so my body can build up the antibodies)  for at least a month if not 3. Then if and when the test shows I do have it, the answer will be “don’t eat gluten”. Well given my reaction to it I think I will just not eat it.

I spent the day mostly in bed or basically trying not to move. Movement made it much, much worse. I called the ladies and asked advice I searched the net. Anything to detox and get this vile allergen out of my body.  I drank water, water and more water. Then I had ginger tea and then chamomile tea and then water with lemon and then more water with lemon and then some more tea. You get the idea. Food was out of the question. I took a nap but that didn’t help. I then decided to take a super hot bath with baking soda and some rosemary water. Followed of course by more lemon water and tea.

I have no idea if any of this helped or to what extent it helped. I do know I woke up Monday feeling right as rain and with a renewed commitment to pay attention to what I consume. vile vile gluten.
