Every baby Druid should know where their food comes from and they can learn the responsibility for caring for something that won’t grieve the heart so badly if it goes to the great hamster haven in the sky or meets its maker down the plumbing to the great fish tank of the beyond.
If you have room for a garden and you need space for a helper, 3X3 ft space is about right to start.
Have them clear the stones from their area and with a hand fork dig in some nice rich compost. If you’re strapped for space you can grow things like corn or potatoes in an old trash can with holes punched in the bottom.
Set up a small divider or fence so they know which plot belongs to them.
Plant seeds, let them help pick at the garden center with wise restraint on the adult’s part…
