Friday Five things I love right now

We are in full-blown wedding gear here. Hubby is in a wedding tomorrow for one of his bffs. We have spent the week with the bride and groom having fun, getting ready and enjoying life. I also have been working on THE project. The one I have been avoiding because I’m scared of it ūüôā I managed to write a whole¬†chapter¬†and erase it all. Nice. Not even sure how I did that but it is gone, baby gone. So today’s Friday Five are intangible¬†.

1. Good attitude. Lets face it bad things are going to happen. It is how we deal with them that shapes the quality of our lives. frankly I don’t have time to sit around and cry over it. Not that I didn’t throw myself a little pity party, but one thing I learned is when you have a pity party have and end time. Like you can be upset about this for 3 min or 45 or a day what ever you feel but then its done move on. This was a great lesson from some great women.

2. Little giggling from the back of the car. Or telling (and retelling)¬†elaborate¬†stories. Listening to her sing for anyone, and watching her want to clink glasses with everyone and say “cheers” each time. That kid just cracks me up.

3. Having lovely friends. Some old some new and all dear to me. I am so very lucky

4. a good cup of tea.

5.knowing myself. Knowing myself well enough to know that I want my mother’s day to be a¬†certain¬†way so I shopped for the foods I wanted and gave my hubby the tour of the food in the fridge and told him¬†exactly¬†what I wanted. ¬†Maybe in a few years I wont have to break it down like that but right now I do. Know what Its¬†OK! Just because he¬†doesn’t¬†know all my hearts¬†desires¬†doesn’t mean he¬†doesn’t¬†love me or¬†doesn’t¬†want to give them to me. Heck this is just our second mothers day and we are all still learning.

I love the idea of putting an end time on a pity party. Extending the metaphor in a perfect way.
