As you know for me there is no separation between the mundane and the sacred. One of recurring themes in my life is house work. You know how many times you wash the dishes or sweep the floor it all has to be done again. For me I sweep our little living room at least once a day and some times much, much more. I can either choose to look at this as a chore and be grumpy about it or I can treat it like a sacred task.
I wont get into the history of brooms and witches or even how to use them in a ritual, this is just a little aside about the sweeping you do in your home. The act of sweeping is cleaning and cleansing. You are literally sweeping away the debris of the day and you can use the same time to sweep away other debris.
Sweep away the sad or the mad. Sweep away hurt feelings. Sweep away whatever it is that you would like out of your home and away from your family. This can be feelings or bad habits or anything you want to be rid of.
This works best if you make up and sing or hum a little song to go along with the act. Every thing we do can either add to our happiness or it can take away from it.
