Today is communication day. It also the day that Mercury (ruler of communication etc) goes direct. THANK GODDNESS!
Now even if you like my hubby who thinks it is pretty much all a bunch of hooey, you can at least be happy for those of us that buy into it. Maybe you have noticed some conversations that didn’t go as intended lately. or where what you were trying to say just was not herd. Personally I have had a strange few weeks in regards to communication so I am happy to hear that every thing should start being smoother.
speaking of going smoother and helping facilitate communication I have been working away at our daily rhythm. Little seems to like it so far though she decided to nap at 11:30 instead of 2????
I have not got our whole day or week figured out yet but I would like to share with you some of what I am working on. At the moment we have little islands of rituals or rhythm. So or morning ritual goes get out of bed and good morning hug, make beds and get dressed then come to the kitchen for breakfast. Have breakfast together at the table. Either as a whole family or just Little and I if DH has already left for work. take our dishes to the kitchen , wash our hands and then its play time. This little island of ritual repeated over and over makes it so much nicer to get up in the morning. Less nagging, more understanding! yippy!
It also helps that this ritual regarding eating is repeated over and over and over. With lunch and Dinner we stop what we are doing. Pick up our project or toys and then go make lunch and sit down at the table to eat. After lunch we take our dishes to the kitchen and go wash our hands.
With dinner sometimes Little helps (she loves to sit on the counter and mix things for me) and sometimes she plays but when dinner is ready we stop, Pick up our toys and come eat as a family. We talk about our day and what our favorite part of the day was. When we are done we take our dishes to the kitchen and go wash our hands (sound familiar?) Then it is Bath Time for little while DH and I chat. For Little it is PJ’s, brush teeth, read books (The same two every night All the world and Goodnight Moon) then I sing her hush little baby rub her back and hug her goodnight.
Those are our established rhythms so far. There is lots of in between that needs sorting out but I feel happy with where we are starting.
