I have been thinking a lot about birthdays and gifts lately. The later half of the year is a big gift giving time for us. Not only do we have yule coming up but every person in my family other then myself has their birthday in the next few months. Little’s birthday is in October and I am racking my brain to figure out what we will do for it.
Last year given life’s circumstances we didn’t have a party for her, but I think we will this year. Only I kind of hate kids birthday parties. I love kids running and frolicking. I don’t love kids hopped up on too much sugar with piles of presents and a case of the give-mes. I don’t like the implication that for your special day you will eat food that is not good for you and be given lots of things that in general are made to be broken. ok yes I am crazy. No I don’t want to take her childhood away from her and yes I am sure there will end up being cake.
I am not really sure what I will end up doing for the actual party but I did make little this crown. It was not that hard to do and yes of course I found it on Pinterest. You can find the pattern here. I am hopping to start a tradition. I am also hopping to make some numbers to add to the crown between now and October. If not thought at least she will have pretty crown to wear on her birthday and show the world just how special she is.
